After my last mining trip I came back with about 5 stacks of cobblestone, filling up the column for cobblestone in my old chest. (Yes, I’m quite a perfectionist when it comes to Minecraft) Changing the subject slightly I did also come back with a total 8 diamonds, giving me a grand total of 9.
But moving along, I started to build an undergorund/basement area for my house. At the moment it’s just going to have my storage room but in the future it might contain a mushroom farm or something as well.
I built the stairs going down to the right because my mineshaft’s roof is over to the right and it would intersect that and mess everything up. It may look a bit funny but it is easier this way.
Done, it’s not much right now but I will be filling it in with extra chests and signs when I need to – right now I only need it for cobble.
After finishing my aniamal padock last post I decided it would be a good idea to go and explore the cave that I found previously. After about 2 minutes of digging further down in my mineshaft I came about this rather large cavin, containing a lot of iron, coal and lava. But most importantly – diamond!
Bring on the moment of truth, how many diamonds are there? Just the one? Or is it a vien of 3 or 4 of them? Dun, Dun, Dunnnnnn. Just the one, oh well. It’s better than nothing at least 😀
But nether the less I continue across the lava lake in hope of finding more diamonds. Soon I come to another opening on the other side and are greeted with some Lapis Lazupi, exactly 20 pieces to be exact.
Wow thats a lot of lava. I wish I dropped my diamond off in a chest or something, don’t wana lose it in here. Even though it looked promising there isn’t really anything special in here, just a few pieces of iron. Oh well. At least it’s somthing.
I decided what I wanted to try and do today, the title may give it away slightly 🙂
So I went out with some of the wheat and seeds I got from the farm I built yesterday and found myself 2 little piglets (who look very cute on this texture pack I must say – Minecraft4Kids)
After keeping them confined behind a dirt wall for a while I began to start building them a proper pen, bit by bit being careful not to let them escape. It may have took a while but I think it was worth it. I wonder what the pigs think . . .
I then went for a wander, found my self a new buddy (a cute little calf) and saw a puppy on a sheep murdering rampage. What a day. I Brought my new calf back home to live with the pigs and found out that calfs don’t like walking through doors aparently, so it took me a minute or two to get him through my house and into the pen/paddock/field thingy (think I like paddock the most, its not really much of a field, yet . . .
The mine I made last yesterday came in very useful today as I needed quite a lot of cobblestone for the roof. I decided to try and see what it looked like having a roof on my house.
I think that looks fine and dandy. I might extend the roof over the balcony on the right in the future, but that’s fine for now.
I also decided to make a farm, firstly because of food, secondly because I need wheat to tame livestock (baby animals mod) so I can bread them and thirdly because pistons are coming to Minecraft in Beta 1.7 and because of this I can make an button harvesting farm.
I built it in a way that I think looks quite cool (and weird) but the main thing is that it works efficiently. Until pistons get implemented you can just place a block of water in the hole at the end of the farm and it will have the same effect as flicking a switch when the farm is finished.
It holds 24 wheat in total and give back around 10 seeds back, so they will build up quite quickly. That’s all for now, don’t know what I’m going to be doing in the next post. You’ll just have to wait and find out . . .
Today I decided to take a break from SMP Minecraft and go back to my single player world for a while, probably just until the map on Burnt’s server gets changed when Beta 1.7 gets released.
First thing I noticed when I came back to this world is how ugly my mineshaft in the garden looks, it has to go. So I headed down into it, nearly falling into the lava at the bottom of the shaft that I found last time. I took out all of the ladders and made my way back up on a column of cobble, sealing the top. Also the fence needed finishing so I did that as well.
Then I started to build a staircase down the side of the hill, one for the new mine and also because I might build a dock here in the future. The mine is only small for now, but it will do.
Next on my to-do list is finish off the house properly, mainly the missing glass upstairs. After a quick trip to the desert next door I came back with about 60 sand. I popped half in the furnace and with the left-overs I made this small beach in front of the mine entrance. After that the glass was ready and I quickly filled in all the gaps upstairs.
I still need to make a roof and add some finishing touches to the insides like some bookcases and seats maybe. But I’ll do that next post.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while you will probably know about the pointless farm tower that I made a while back. It has recently fallen into disrepair and as I now have a farm next to my house I don’t really have any use for the tower any more, I never really did now I think about it . . .
The tower did have one use though – the views. I’ve not been up it for a while and I got onto the top just as it was turning night. Our server really does look cool at night . . .
I decided to make it go out with a bang, so after getting some more sand from the beach I headed back to my house to craft some TNT. I only made five for now but I think I’m going to need more than that – it is a very strong building as it’s build entirely from cobblestone. I went in and salvaged what I could, the workbench and chest, along with all of the torches and wheat still growing there.
I wired up the redstone and set it off, destroying the insides of the tower. But quite a lot of the outer shell remains. Bring on wave 2.
Ok, so wave 2 kinda failed as well. As I’ve nearly ran out of gunpowder I think I’ll just take the rest down with my trusty diamond pick. That wont fail 😀
So I’m probably going to build a house or something where my tower was in next post. But for now I’ve just filled in the hole and made it look all nice.
Sorry about the title, I felt it was necessary. But anyways moving swiftly on. I’m getting to the point on the server when I’ve nearly “beat the game” as such. But that will hopefully change soon, when the next update comes out actually because Burnt is going to re-set the server’s map when that happens.
Don’t ask why, I was bored 😀
I started off by making some circles, gradually getting bigger
Then I started planning how big the tank was going to be and started building that
Added a seat . . .
And then the finishing touch – making it flushable! That hole on the right holds the lever where the water is turned on and off. The water is simply behind some pistons and when the switch is flicked it opens the pistons, letting the water flow.
