Hi guys, sorry that I haven’t been posting much in the last few days. Not had much time on my hands, been playing other games, playing my guitar (learning Sweden off the Minecraft soundtrack) and just general things happening in my life. So yh. I did post a new video on YouTube (a tutorial of the piston door I posted a few days earlier) but forgot to post it here, so I’ll do that now.
I shall try and get some more posts out soon, inbetween life, guitar and other things I’ve been doing lately. I’ve also been playing some Crysis 2 and I want to try and finish that off (I have a habit of leaving games I’m playing half finished (Half Life)) And I may also buy Cities XL 2011 later as it is on sale for £5.99 and it is a game I have been wanting to play for a while but couldn’t be bothered to pour £29.99 out of my pockets for a game that I probably won’t even play for that long.
But anyhow, I’ll be trying to get out some more posts in the next few days but don’t be surprised if I don’t, I’ve been feeling quite tired lately and there are things I would much rather be doing than forcing myself to play a game, take screenshots, think of things to write whilst I’m doing all of this and then compile this all into a post. It may not sound it but it is quite draining and sometimes I just don’t feel like it.
So I hope to be posting some more, but until then I’m signing off for some well-deserved rest 😀
Sorry for the lack of posts over the last few days, because of the 1.7 update my mods are out of date and don’t want to continue my singleplayer world until I get baby animals because I will lose them otherwise. But here is a video as I’m not posting nothing. There will probably be another piston video tomorrow.
The mine I made last yesterday came in very useful today as I needed quite a lot of cobblestone for the roof. I decided to try and see what it looked like having a roof on my house.
I think that looks fine and dandy. I might extend the roof over the balcony on the right in the future, but that’s fine for now.
I also decided to make a farm, firstly because of food, secondly because I need wheat to tame livestock (baby animals mod) so I can bread them and thirdly because pistons are coming to Minecraft in Beta 1.7 and because of this I can make an button harvesting farm.
I built it in a way that I think looks quite cool (and weird) but the main thing is that it works efficiently. Until pistons get implemented you can just place a block of water in the hole at the end of the farm and it will have the same effect as flicking a switch when the farm is finished.
It holds 24 wheat in total and give back around 10 seeds back, so they will build up quite quickly. That’s all for now, don’t know what I’m going to be doing in the next post. You’ll just have to wait and find out . . .
Sorry for not posting much in the last few days, had some homework that needed to be done and I’ve been playing Terraria a bit more frequently (started a new character and world) Oh, and I’ve also been working on this. Enjoy 😀
Edit: Woowowo! 994 views yesterday! I checked in my stats and noticed most of the links to my blog were from reddit (proving posting links on there works) I was wondering, can we get the views today up to 1,200? Its worth a try 😀
Just going to be more of a picture post this one, I’ve been working on that Minecart system I mentioned in a previous post. Pretty much finished I think. Just need to get around to making the videos to showcase it. I also found out about a little inde game (off Notch’s twitter) that is quite a lot like Minecraft. It looks quite a lot of fun and is meant to be played multilayer mostly, well that’s what I’m guessing from the gameplay trailers. More about that in a bit.
After finishing Portal 2 myself and waiting for Sqiglesheep to finish so we could attempt the Co-Op campaign I got a little bored. So with 2 and a bit spare days on my hands I decided to make a montage, this is the product of my bordem. And if you have anything that I could improve on please leave a comment (just make it constructive criticism please)
So I’ve been playing Portal 2 quite a lot over the last day or so, and finished it this morning, just before making this post. But I did take a break from it yesterday afternoon to make my update video for Minecraft 1.5. I’ve put a full list of the updates and bug fixes below if you would like to take a look at them. But without any more delay here is the video:
Just a quick video showing the new features in Beta 1.4
* Added tameable wolves
* Added cookies
* Sleeping in a bed now resets your spawn position
* New Minecraft logo
* Holding shift while climbing will hang on to the ladder
* Spiders will no longer trample crops
* Lots and lots of infrastructure for Statistics lists and Achievements
While most of the code is written, statistics and achievements won’t show up until the next update. We didn’t quite have time to finish them this week, and didn’t want to delay the update longer.
Just going to be a short post this one, all I’ve got to show is the modifications I’ve done to my house. These consist of making a propper roof and making the upstairs area like a loft, sort-of. And cleaning up the floor in the basement, which has been bugging me for a while. Another reason why this post isn’t going to be too long is because I’ve become slightly addicted to the game Lead and Gold, a third person shooter set in the gold rush. It was in the free weekend on steam and on sale for only £1.75, and offer I wasn’t going to pass up on. It’s appeal will wear off quite soon though, I don’t think it’s 4 “professions” and 7 maps are going to last me too long . . .
