Damn. Damn, damn DAMN! So the server crashing the other days caused the map to become corrupted. So we have a new map now. Brilliant. So I might put up a post or two in the next week, I’m going to be starting a new lets play (possible a video one) when Notch freezes Minecraft development on the 18th and just concentrates on optimization and bug fixing until Nov 18th. This is so that the game will be ready and bug free (hopefully) for its release at Minecon. But to keep you occupied until I get a post ready here is a piccy of our house on the new server . . .
So yh, if you were wondering the lava on the left used to flow from the hole in the cliff face to the left of it. I filled in the hole about 2 hours before this picture was took and it is still flowing down for some reason 🙂 (Until next time; keep crafting!)
Ok, long story short the mushroom water feature thingy I build was starting to annoy me so I destroyed it, made a new mushroom and then made it a water feature.
Now onto making a path and properly lighting up the area (aka not just torches dotted all around) . . . A few minutes later:
So I think it is looking quite good so far, unfortunately I seem to have run out of sand. Luckily there is a desert about a minute from here. Let’s go shopping (for sand, which is free. Cause that works) One day and an iron shovel later I’m exactly 100 blocks better off in sand. Back to work then.
Annnndd god damn it! The server crashed, guess I will have to resume my path building another day =( Sorry for this quite short post then (and keep crafting!)
So, after a few days of ‘End of stream’ errors the server finally decided to work again. Back to making this village . . . First job – extend the pond into a river. After a day of long hard work I went to bed in our bedshroom and and came back down to take a picture when it was day again.
Then a second after I took that screenshot “ssssss” and boom. Luckily I slept at the village this time so I didn’t have to walk all the way back.
So yh, back to work. I’m going to make the river bottom all sand (cause it looks nicer) and yet another day passes, job done. My shovel also seems to have taken a beating and need to be repaired. Another trip back to my house it is then (my diamonds are stowed away in my basement) but I think I will be fine with an iron shovel for now.
Now to make a water feature, I think a mushroom will do just fine. Yup, that looks pretty dandy =D
I’ll try and get a few posts ready in this session so that I still have some stuff to post over the next few days if the server goes down again. So until next time, keep crafting!
So, I finally decided to post some stuff to my blog again. It has been forever since I last did and I am starting to feel a little guilty for not keeping to a schedule or at least keep posting once a fortnight or somet like that. I’ve just not been feeling like posting lately, or somet.
But anyways, Laura has got her internet back finally (she has moved house) and Burnt has got a new server map. So we decide to go off exploring the other day and I said we should create a mushroom house. That soon started turning into a mushroom village.
Firstly we made the kitchen thingy (the original mushroom house) it contains the essentials: workbench, chests and furnaces. Next up was our bedroom shroom. But as there was a small lake/pond next to where we decided to build (I forgot to take a picture of the pond in question) we didn’t have much space. Solution? Fill in the pond and make a new one beside it.
Bedroom shroom, done. And at this point Laura had to go off so I shall end this post here (sorry for it being quite short) and I will continue when she next gets on (which should be in the next few days)
So yh, sorry about the lack of posts in the last *runs off to check when last post was* 10 days. I’ve been occupied with Bad Company 2 quite a lot and I’ve been going out with friends a lot more recently (we finished school yesterday so I should have some more time on my hands from now on) But I haven’t been ignoring Minecraft, just not posting anything about it. Today’s post is going to be a kind-of overview of the stuff I’ve built on the new server map over the last week or so.
This is my “base area” I suppose you could call it, my house is atop the hill and the building to the right is an automatic wheat farm.
The house I built is the same house (with a few changes) as the one I showed in my last post. I’m not going to show off the insides, if you want to see what it looks like just go to my last post.
Downstairs is a small mushroom farm, with a mineshaft in progress on the right and an idea from Iced_Apple on the left – a tunnel sysetem joining all of the houses in the area together for easier access at night for example. But that is still being constructed, I might show that in another post when it is finished.
And finally my wheat farm, it is automatic and rather stylish if I must say so myself 😀 To harvest you just have to flick the lever, this opens a piston which lets water run down the channels of crops and harvests them. It then pushes the wheat and seeds down to a collection point next to the door.
If you’ve been following my blog for a while you will probably know about the pointless farm tower that I made a while back. It has recently fallen into disrepair and as I now have a farm next to my house I don’t really have any use for the tower any more, I never really did now I think about it . . .
The tower did have one use though – the views. I’ve not been up it for a while and I got onto the top just as it was turning night. Our server really does look cool at night . . .
I decided to make it go out with a bang, so after getting some more sand from the beach I headed back to my house to craft some TNT. I only made five for now but I think I’m going to need more than that – it is a very strong building as it’s build entirely from cobblestone. I went in and salvaged what I could, the workbench and chest, along with all of the torches and wheat still growing there.
I wired up the redstone and set it off, destroying the insides of the tower. But quite a lot of the outer shell remains. Bring on wave 2.
Ok, so wave 2 kinda failed as well. As I’ve nearly ran out of gunpowder I think I’ll just take the rest down with my trusty diamond pick. That wont fail 😀
So I’m probably going to build a house or something where my tower was in next post. But for now I’ve just filled in the hole and made it look all nice.
Over the last few days I’ve being improving my mob grinder, which is taking up quite a lot of my time. I’ve also built a little farm next to my house. Oh, I got a new texture pack as well – Minecraft4Kids 😀
It’s in the garden to the right of my house, only quite small but it will be ok.
And I also made my mushroom farm a bit larger and put some torches up in the roof to stop monsters from spawning in there. That would kinda make it pointless having a farm of food and when harvesting it losing health.
Sorry for this very small post, been a bit occupied with school over the last few days. I hope to get a bigger post out soon. And a quick notice when Beta 1.7 comes out Burnt has said he will be starting a new map on the server so expect some more posts when that happens.
Decided to make an observation deck today, along with a few other refinements to our nether house/base.
Here is the observation area that I made, to make it I had to go to a lower level and platform over to make the glass part go lower than how low it was in the last episode. I knew this was a bad idea and my suspicions came true when a ghast started attacking my platform. I managed to escape though, just.
I also added a proper crafting area complete with chest, crafting table and fireplace.
