Getting a new room (kinda, a new bed, desk and end table thingy) but this also means I can’t really use my main desktop PC (the one I run all of my games on) I did buy the Humble Bundle though and have been playing those. I can run all but Atom Zombie Smasher on my laptop, which has been keeping me occupied until I get my new desk, which should be going and getting from Ikea tomorrow if all goes well.
But back onto the Humble Bundle most of the games are pretty fun, my favourites at the moment being HammerFight and Cortex Command (even though it is still in development and pretty buggy it is still a fun concept and some modders have managed to get it working at least slightly)
So yh, until I get my desk don’t expect any interesting stuff (not that I have been posting anything lately anyways, but saying that I was nearly ready to show off a Minecart Station that I have designed but I guess I’ll just post that in a few days)
So yh, after yet another period of not having access to the my computer and the internet (an unexpected camping trip this time) I’m going to try and get back into some kind of schedule (or at least posting more frequently) As a lot of you probably know (unless you’ve been disconnected from the internet like me) that the Aether mod has been released. The mod ads a alternate dimension, being dubbed the alternate of the nether, a ton of items and a handful of new mobs. It is a dimension full of floating islands (quite similar to the skylands map), along with dungeons in which you can fight bosses for special rewards. But I’m not going to go through all of the additions, that would take forever, head over to the mods page for more info on it.
So moving back to my blog, I will probably be posting some content about the Aether soon. Note the “probably” in that sentence, as with a lot of other Minecraft commentators and bloggers Minecraft is becoming quite stale and boring. I don’t want to play just Minecraft as I enjoy playing other games as well from time to time. I will defiantly post lots more as soon as the adventure update comes out, but that is quite a long way off yet. I am probably going to be playing Nightmare House 2, which is a Source Mod, the follow up to the Nightmare House 1, a custom map for Gmod. But unfortunately that game is one that won’t really be suitable for blogging about.
I don’t know if anybody noticed but my blog has a new design, one which I don’t know how long I will be keeping as it doesn’t have a custom header. But I think it looks nice, and is a nice change from the Duster come TwentyEleven theme that I was using previously. I didn’t originaly want to use this theme, I saw a nice one on the web called Neutral but as that is a download theme and I am hosting with WordPress there is no way for me to use that theme (which is annoying as the other themes from that team are in the WordPress Theme Gallery, I just don’t like them that much)
So yh, I will try and get some more content up about Minecraft, mainly the Aether.
So yh, sorry about the lack of posts in the last *runs off to check when last post was* 10 days. I’ve been occupied with Bad Company 2 quite a lot and I’ve been going out with friends a lot more recently (we finished school yesterday so I should have some more time on my hands from now on) But I haven’t been ignoring Minecraft, just not posting anything about it. Today’s post is going to be a kind-of overview of the stuff I’ve built on the new server map over the last week or so.
This is my “base area” I suppose you could call it, my house is atop the hill and the building to the right is an automatic wheat farm.
The house I built is the same house (with a few changes) as the one I showed in my last post. I’m not going to show off the insides, if you want to see what it looks like just go to my last post.
Downstairs is a small mushroom farm, with a mineshaft in progress on the right and an idea from Iced_Apple on the left – a tunnel sysetem joining all of the houses in the area together for easier access at night for example. But that is still being constructed, I might show that in another post when it is finished.
And finally my wheat farm, it is automatic and rather stylish if I must say so myself 😀 To harvest you just have to flick the lever, this opens a piston which lets water run down the channels of crops and harvests them. It then pushes the wheat and seeds down to a collection point next to the door.
So yh, as a lot of you may have noticed I haven’t been very active for the last 4 days or so. I’ve just not really been feeling like playing Minecraft over the last few days, and even less making post about the game that I have only been playing for a couple of hours over the course of about the last week. I have been playing on my computer though, just not on Minecraft. Some Tf2 on and off and I also got Cities Xl 2011 the other day and Bad Company 2 (the bundle containing Bad Company, Vietnam and The Specact DLC) for a small sum of £9.99 which is not too bad saying I was considering about buying only the base game the other day for £15. So you may see some content from these games in the future, probably screenshots from Cities and maybe a montage from Bad Company, but I will need to take a bit of time to adjust before I start thinking about recording any footage.
I did build a house on my single player to plan out how I want my new house to be on the server, (which the map has been changed on for a while now but I have never got around to building a nice house – just an ugly box house) I may post some screenshots of that later on today as I’m in the garden on my laptop writing this (I play Minecraft on my other PC)
So expect some more content later on today or tomorrow at the latest. And keep mining 😛
Sorry for the lack of posts over the last few days, because of the 1.7 update my mods are out of date and don’t want to continue my singleplayer world until I get baby animals because I will lose them otherwise. But here is a video as I’m not posting nothing. There will probably be another piston video tomorrow.
I think it’s about time to make my farm a bit more worthwhile, by making the animals grow up. To do this I need some cake, and as I now have quite a lot of iron I can easily spare 6 pieces to make the extra buckets needed.
Wow, I only needed 1 cow, but 5 will do. So after getting some milk I made a cake and headed out into my paddock.
Aparently you just have to go up to the animal you want to grow and right click on it with the cake. So I had my cake and an incredibly cute calf – all set! I rightclicked and sure enough there standing before me was a fully grown adult cow.
There is a slight down side though – I can’t seem to milk it, well that is quite a massive down side saying that is kinda the point . . .
